Data plans

A fixed data allowance to use during your plan’s validity.

Validity period

30 Days
15 Days
7 Days

Install your eSIM in three steps.

Set up your eSIM while you have Wi-Fi. Your plan starts when it connects at your destination.

Need installation help?

  1. Complete your purchase

Your eSIM QR code is sent to your email after checkout.

  2. Install the eSIM

Scan the QR code in your phone's mobile-data settings, or enter the details manually.

  3. Connect when you arrive

Turn on the eSIM line and select it for mobile data at your destination.

Stay connected with an Italy eSIM

Plan your trip with a fixed-data eSIM for Italy. Choose 1 GB for 7 days, 3 GB for 15 days, or 5, 7, 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50 GB for 30 days. Plans use 4G/LTE, with 5G where available.

Plan duration is counted in rolling 24-hour periods. The selected fixed-data allowance stops when it is used.

How much data do you need for Italy?

Think about your usual phone habits while travelling. Messaging, checking maps and tickets, and occasional email generally use less data than video streaming, video calls, or automatic photo backups. Download larger files over Wi-Fi and review your phone's data-usage settings as you go.

These are general usage pointers, not a guaranteed estimate. Italy plans offer fixed allowances from 1 GB to 50 GB for 7, 15, or 30 days. A smaller allowance may suit lighter use, while regular streaming or uploads can call for more data.

Can I avoid high data roaming charges with a travel eSIM for Italy?

Yes. Set this travel eSIM as your mobile-data line and your phone will use its plan instead of your home carrier’s data-roaming service. This helps you avoid high mobile-data roaming charges from your home carrier.

In Italy, WhatsApp is a convenient choice for messages and internet calls where available. Check which app your contacts use. Use the eSIM data for internet-based messages and voice or video calls; data use counts toward the selected plan.

Before connecting, select the travel eSIM for mobile data, keep data roaming off on your home SIM, and turn off automatic data switching if your phone offers it. Enable data roaming on the travel eSIM only if its setup instructions require it. Calls, texts, voicemail or Wi-Fi calling on your home number may still incur separate charges from your home carrier, so check its terms.

Questions about Italy eSIM

Clear answers to the questions travellers ask before buying and using an eSIM.

Learn how eSIM works

Before you buy

Will an eSIM work on my phone?

Your phone needs to support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. Support can vary by exact model and purchase region. Confirm both with your device manufacturer or carrier before you buy.

How do I get an eSIM?

Choose a destination and plan, complete checkout, then use the QR code or manual details sent to your email.

Install and activate

When should I install and activate my eSIM?

Follow the installation and activation instructions delivered with your eSIM. Check the plan’s activation window and when validity begins before installing; installation and activation rules can differ between plans.

Do I need to enable data roaming?

Follow the instructions sent with your plan. If data roaming is required, enable it only for the travel eSIM and review your home SIM settings to avoid unexpected charges.

While you travel

Standard or Unlimited: which should I choose?

Standard plans include a fixed data allowance for the stated validity period. Unlimited plans may have a daily high-speed allowance, followed by reduced speeds. Compare the allowance and speed policy shown for each plan.

What happens to my physical SIM after I install an eSIM?

You can usually leave it in your phone. Select your travel eSIM for mobile data and review your home carrier's roaming settings before travelling.
